If I Could Travel Through Time

Inspired by today’s Daily Prompt:

http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2013/07/19/daily-prompt-sneaky/

If I could travel through time
And nobody could see
Would I try and fix the world
Or would I just be me?

If I could travel through time
And nobody could see
Would I stay in one place
Or would I set myself free?

If I could travel through time
And nobody could see,
I would write poems with Mrs. Dickinson
And with Mozart compose unseen.

If I could travel through time
And nobody could see,
Would my travelings wreck the world
Or would we all be more happy?

So, if I could travel through time
And nobody could see,
I would not travel at all,
And instead just be me.

Little Seed

My faith is but a little seed

Seed though it may be

It will always be there to comfort me.

My faith is but a little seed

It is there for me in times of need

And if I care for it, it will be as a tiny tree.

My faith is now a tiny tree

I care for it, it cares for me

By studying and listening and serving, it will be as a mighty tree.

My faith is now a mighty tree

It carries me and sets me free

I believe the things I hear and see

My faith is now a mighty tree.

To Remember You

If I were

To talk in my sleep

Would I say

How I need you?

If I were

To speak crazily

Would it be poetry for you?

Because the only time I want to mention you

Is when I’m so in love

That I turn crazy

And that’s how I wish

To remember you.

If I were

To dance in the rain

Would I dance with you?

If I were

To sing a pretty song

Would it be about you?

Because the only time I want to mention you

Is when I’m so in love

I want to sing

And that’s how I wish

To remember you.

I never want to leave this state

I never want to feel the pain

I never want my heart to break

I just want to go insane with you

I just wanna sing for you.

Because the only time I want to mention you

Is when my love is burning bright

And I forget to put up a fight

And that’s how I wish

To remember

You

My Books, My Words & Things

My things
Leapt off their shelves
To be there for me
When I met you,
For they knew I’d never be the same.

My books
Changed their heroes’ names
To yours
So that I could be closer to you
For they knew I would never be the same.

My words
Wrapped my mind
In love
And made it so I could not sleep
For they knew I would never be the same.

For I would never, never, never be the same.

Beauty & The Beast

I love the fairytale “Beauty & The Beast”. So, I decided to write about it in this poem. It’s a duet of sorts between the Beast and Beauty.

I thought you were ugly
Thought you were horrendous
Thought you were terrifying
What a fool I was!

Inside was a heart
Good and true and pure
You gave me this heart
And even more

I’m sorry I never realized
How much I feel for you
Now you’re gone
And I am feeling blue

I love you!

My darling, you broke the spell
That kept me here this way
Your words of love freed me
And I am here to stay

Ten long years I waited for you
And you found me
It’s like you are the sun after a dark night
And I can finally see

My princess,
Will you be my bride
And stay forever
By my side?

And All The World a Dream

This is a poem based on my favorite chapter in the fourth book of the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini: “And All the World a Dream”.

Slipping away,
Dream after dream
Horror after horror
Thing after thing.

Then my mind is filled with peace
A vineyard, green and bright
You are mine, we are in love
And I give up the fight.

But it is not to be, my dear
For all this world is but a dream
It is swept away with the knife in your side
And you cannot hear my screams.

I feel your presence in my mind
As I laugh at fate, laugh at fear
Defeating foe on foe
For I know that you are near.
